Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts is headed to the 10-day disabled list with a small crack in his talus bone in his left ankle. No surgery is required and Bogaerts is expected to return in 10-14 days.

The Sox will recall infielder Tzu-Wei Lin from Triple-A Pawtucket in time for the game tomorrow night vs the Yankees.

The injury happened in the 7th inning of Sunday's 8-7 win over Tampa Bay. Bogaerts was oving toward third base to cover a relay throw from leftfield. The ball hit off his glove and bounded to the Rays dugout. He tried to chase the ball to prevent it from going into the dugout. He did that but injured his ankle in the process.
