Joe Kelly's debut with the Red Sox was impressive - seven innings of three hit, one run ball. He wound up with a no decision but the Sox scored a ninth inning run and beat the St.Louis Cardinals 2-1.

Kelly was pitching against his former teammates. The opposing picher, Shelby Miller, was the best man at his wedding.

Kelly got 15 of his 21 outs on ground balls.

On the offensive side, Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts drove in both runs. The first one on a fourth inning double. In the ninth, Bogaerts drilled a line drive sacrifice fly with the bases loaded.

Cardinals fans gave both Kelly and Allen Craig ovations as they returned to Busch Stadium for the first time since the deadline day trade for John Lackey.

Here's the injured Craig bringing out the lineup card before the game.
