Several reports have indicated the Boston Bruins have made a trade prior to the deadline to acquire Andrej Meszaros from Philadelphia.The bruins are reportedly sending a third round pick back to the Flyers to complete the deal. The 28 year old Meszaros was a 2004 first round draft pick of the Ottawa Senators where he was teammates with Zdeno Chara. The two also played together on the Slovakian Olympic team.

In 38 games for the Flyers this season he has 5 goals and 12 assists. Meszaros will be a $4 million dollar hit in the Bruins salary cap and become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.

Earlier in the day the Bruins claimed defenseman Corey Potter off waivers from the Edmonton Oilers. Potter had played in just 16 games this season.
