Boston Group Wants Will Ferrell For Sox Manager
Could the Boston Red Sox replace John Farrell with comedian Will Ferrell? Well they would if Improv Asylum had any say.
GoFundMe to raise $1.3 million dollars (the average salary of an MLB Manager) to see if they could coerce the comedian to don the Sox uniform and manage the Boston team in 2018.
Among the reasons cited on the page were that the players had already gotten used to calling their manager Farrell and would it would be an easy transition to Ferrell. They also pointed out that the ‘Anchorman’ star played for 10 different teams in the MLB during Spring Training two years ago.
At the time of publication, the troupe was well short of the $1.3 million they needed, but it’s still early. How do you think the actor would do in the role of Sox manager?
