One of the state's most talented schoolgirl basketball players has made her college choice. Houlton's Kolleen Bouchard has verbally committed to Division II Bentley College in Massachusetts.

Bouchard gets ready for her senior year as a Shiretowner having won three straight regional titles and twice winning state championships.

Last year Bouchard averaged 24 points per game, along with nine rebounds and four assists a game.

Her brother, Kyle, plays for the Bentley men's team. He will be a junior on the Falcons team.

The women's program at Bentley plays in the Northeast 10 Conference and won the D-II NCAA championship in 2014.

Last year, Bentley made it to the NCAA tournament and finished 26-6.

The state of Maine to Bentley College pipeline is well established. Along with Kyle Bouchard, Hampden's Zach Gilpin, Hodgdon's Chris Hudson and Falmouth's Nick Burton are current players at Bentley.

Past Maine high school players who played at Bentley include Camden's Tyler McFarland who is the school's all-time scoring leader (2,118 career points) and Maine Basketball Hall of Famer Charlie Wootton (981 career rebounds, 4th all-time).
