The Houlton Shiretowners returned to the Cross Center where they won last years Class C state title and now as a Class B team beat the John Bapst Crusaders 50-43.Super sophomore Kolleen Bouchard led the Shires with a game high 19 points as she helped the team build a 13 point lead in the first half.

Bapst came storming back in the second half and cut te lead to one before Houlton was able to regain control and improve to 12-1 on the season. Aspen Flewelling added 11 points to help Houlton's cause.

For John Bapst who falls to 8-5, Crystal Bell scored 19 points.

In the boys game John Bapst was able to end an 8-game losing streak by beating Houlton for a hard fought 38-33 win. Ben Smith got the Crusaders rolling with 10 points in the first half before finishing with a game high 15.

Noah Tomah came off the bench in the fourth quarter to provide a spark with some big offensive rebounds and 9 points.

The Crusaders improve to 4-8 with the win while Houlton drops to 1-12.
