After all of the NCAA teams went through 63 games, a champion was crowned with North Carolina beating Gonzaga in the title game, and it also meant a new champ in The Ticket's 2017 Bracket Challenge.

Brad Olson of Dexter took home the crown and the spoils that come with it, by scoring a UNC win in the finals and nailing the tiebreaker of total points scored of 136 to best his opposition.  Olson was tied with four others after the game ended, but was able to win on his guess of the combined championship game score.

The Dexter native joined the Morning Pitch on Wednesday to talk about his win, which saw him correctly pick 47 of 63 games in the tournament.  Olson, a former standout at Husson who went on to play professional basketball in France and Luxembourg, said that his win was blind luck.  He also said he spent roughly 90 seconds on filling out the field of teams and had no idea he was in the running to win the whole competition until he heard he had won.

With the win, not only does Brad take home bragging rights for another 11 months.over his peers, but he also will receive a $100 gift certificate from your locally owned Napa Auto Parts and a $250 gift certificate to the Sea Dog Brew Pub in Bangor.  A big thanks to everyone who played this year!
