The Brewer Witches scored 10 runs in the third inning and survived a furious comeback effort by the Gardiner Tigers to win Saturday's Class B North semifinal at Heddericg Field.

The 11-7 win advances Brewer to Wednesday's regional final, where they will face either Ellsworth or Oceanside.

Brewer's 10-run inning included a pair of RBI singles from Josiah Cyr, who finished the day with three hits, three RBIs, two runs scored and a pair of stolen bases.

The Witches' explosive inning also included an RBI single from Kyle Goodrich and a two-run single from Evan Andrews.

The Tigers did not throw in the towel. In fact, they responded by scoring seven runs in the top half of the fourth inning.

Gardiner got RBI singles from Chandler Moran, Logan Porter and Kolton Brochu, and Garrett Lunt added a two-run triple.

Brewer added another run in the sixth, while Gardiner failed to score over the game's final 2.5 innings.

Gardiner ends its season with a record of 14-5.
