Brewer District Champs, East Regional Next

The Brewer Senior League All Star team beat Bronco-Hermon 7-2 Saturday night to claim the Maine District 3 Championship and now it is on to New Jersey for the East Regional.

Brewer completed district play with a 3-0 record.

In past years, the district champ would be the host team for the Senior League World Series but when Little League moved the SLWS from Bangor to Easley, South Carolina it means the local team must play more baseball to advance to the international event.

There is no Maine state tourney in the senior division so Brewer advances to the East Regional in Thorofare, New Jersey. It is a 10-team field (including a local host team). The tourney begins Thursday. Brewer's first game will be played on Friday at 2pm vs either Massachusetts or New York.
