Brewer vs. Bangor In State Legion Tourney

Bangor and Brewer both picked up wins at the state American Legion tournament Friday and now play each other in a 3:30 game today.Bangor wasted little time handing Bessey Motors of South Paris their first defeat with a 10-0 win that ended after 7 innings because of the mercy rule. Trevor Delaite struck out 7 and allowed just 4 hits in getting the complete game win.

Andrew Hillier led the offense with 2 hits and 2 rbi while Hunter Boyce added 3 hits and an rbi. The win improves the Comrades to 3-0 and the only undefeated team in the tourney.

Brewer scored 9 runs over the final two innings on their way to a 14-4 win over Morrill Post of South Portland in an elimination game. Greg Warmuth had a big day at the plate with 4 hits and drove in 4 runs.

Brewer will play Bangor today at 3:30.
