The Hampden boys basketball team is now the lone unbeaten team in Eastern Maine Class A. The Broncos came from behind to beat Brunswick Friday night to win 55-43 and now stand at 10-0.

The other unbeaten team heading into Friday night, Edward Little High School, lost at Lawrence 67-53. The Red Eddies fall to 8-1.

In the Hampden game, the Broncos found themselves down 24-23 at the half - the first time all season they've been behind at halftime.

But thanks to a 19-7 third quarter run, Hampden took control of the game and won by a dozen. Zach Gilpin scored 22 points to lead the Broncos. Tyler Norris and Matt Palmer had 11 each.

At Lawrence High School in Fairfield, the Bulldogs handled Edward Little thanks in big part to former Bangor HS player Xavier Lewis. He pumped in 25 points.

Lawrence played the game without head coach Mike McGee. He was serving a one game suspension after picking up two technical fouls in the previous game.

The Bulldogs are now 9-1.
