To say sophomore Alex Brooks led the Brewer Witches to a win would be an understatement as he impacted the game on the mound and at the plate.Brewer completed a season sweep of the Hampden Broncos with a 4-1 win at Heddericg Field to improve to 11-4 on the season.

Brooks went the distance on the mound for the win while holding the Broncos to 1 run on 6 hits and 3 strikeouts. Brooks also came up big with the bat as he roped a 2-run double in the bottom of the 5th inning to give the Witches a lead they would never surrender.

Greg Warmuth also contributed for the Witches with 2 hits, 3 stolen bases and 2 runs scored. Alex Maxsimic added a couple singles and an rbi.

Hampden dropped to 4-11 with the loss and need to win their regular season finale on Tuesday against Skowhegan for a chance to make the playoffs.

Brewer will close out their regular season with a Monday night match-up against #2 Messalonskee. You can hear that game live on Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket, 929theticket.com or on our free mobile app form Radio Pup with the first pitch set for 6pm.
