Bruins Camp Begins as Thomas Sits

GM Peter Chiarelli will put goalie Tim Thomas on the suspended list today. Thomas had said months ago that he was taking a year off. The B's need to put him on the suspension list for salary cap and roster reasons. His salary will count against the team cap. Chiarelli says suspending Thomas will be done in a "non-confrontational way". He has already talked with Thomas' agent.

As the team gets ready on the ice, management is trying to make sure hockey fans forget about the lockout. B's fans will welcome folks to the Garden for all games in January with ticket discounts and free food vouchers.

92.9 TheTicket is eastern Maine's home for Boston Bruins hockey. Coverage of the season opener Saturday night begins at 6:30pm.
