The Boston Bruins lost a fifth straight time last night, a 4-3 shootout loss in Edmonton. Not just any shootout loss - the longest one they have ever played in and the second longest in NHL history.

Defenseman Martin Marincin scored his first career goal in the 12th round of the shootout to win it. B's goalie Tuukka Rask and Oilers goalie Ben Scrivens had stopped all 23 shootout attempts until that one.

The Bruins have lost five games in a row and with a 28-20-9 record they are close to falling out of the playoff picture.

The longest roadtrip of the season continues Friday night at St.Louis.
