The Boston Bruins began their long five game roadtrip by laying an egg in Vancouver. The Canucks scored four times in the first period and beat the Bruins 6-1 Saturday night.

It is just the third regulation loss in 27 games for the Bruins.

Tuukka Rask gave up four goals in eight shots and was pulled after the first period.

Vancouver goalie Anders Nilsson stopped 44 Bruins shots.

Loui Eriksson, the former Boston Bruins player, scored two of the Canucks goals.

The best news for the (35-13-8) Bruins is that Tampa Bay and Toronto both lost. The Lightning is just ahead of the B's in the standings while the Maple Leafs are just behind them. The Bruins are in second place in their Atlantic Division.

Next on the roadtrip is a stop in Calgary on Tuesday.
