It felt like a playoff game when the Boston Bruins beat the New Jersey Devils 3-2 in overtime Friday night. It is the feeling of two teams trying to squeeze out a playoff spot.

The Bruins jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals from Daniel Paille and David Pastrnak.

The Devils came back to tie it in regulation.

Then at 2:46 of overtime, Ryan Spooner scored his first NHL goal to get the Bruins an important win. Spooner is in the lineup for the injured David Krejci.

Niklas Svedberg stopped 29 shots in goal. He was filling in for Tuukka Rask who was out with illness.

With a 30-22-9 record, the B's hold a four point lead over Florida for the 8th and final playoff spot in the east. There are 21 games remaining.
