BREAKING NEWS: The Boston Bruins have made a major deal as the NHL trade deadline nears. The B's acquire six-time all star forward Rick Nash from the NY Rangers and you will join the Bruins for today's game vs Buffalo.

The Bruins give up Ryan Spooner, Matt Beleskey, defenseman Ryan Lindgren, next year's first round draft pick and a 2019 7th round pick.

Nash is in the final year of his current contract and is a free agent at the end of the season.

The Bruins get a big, physical forward - Nash is 6-foot-4, 213 pounds and is 33-years-old. He has 18 goals and 10 assists for 28 points for the rebuilding Rangers. Nash has 434 career goals and has played in over 1,000 NHL games.

Spooner is the one current Bruins player that gets moved in the deal. He has nine goals this season. Beleskey is a veteran player who spent most of the season at Providence in the AHL. Lindgren is prospect blueliner but with Charlie McAvoy, Brandon Carlo and other young defensemen, the B's felt they could afford to give him up in the deal.

The (37-14-8) Bruins lost Saturday night in Toronto 4-3, falling to third place in their division. But, the B's have five games in hand over the Maple Leafs and trail by just one point. They trail first place Tampa Bay by five points with three games in hand.
