Move over Danny Ainge and the Celtics. It's Peter Chiarelli and the Bruins turn to draft young players. The NHL Draft is a two day event, held in Philadelpia this year. The 30 NHL teams will draft seven rounds. The Bruins will have the #25 pick.

One side story to the Bruins on draft weekend is that salary cap issues could prevent the team from re-signing free agent Jerome Iginla. Chiarella wants the veteran Iginla back but may not have the money to give him the contract he wants.

NOTE: The NHL Central Scouting Service lists the top draft eligible young players. Among college players, Boston College's Thatcher Demko is listed as the top goalie. BC also has the top two position players (RW, Alex Tuch, Rk.12) and (LW Sonny Milano, Rk.16).

No UMaine current player or incoming player is listed among draft prospects.
