It took less than three hours in free agency for Boston Bruins winger Jerome Iginla to find a new team - the Colorado Avalanche. He gets a 3-year deal worth $16-million-dollars.

Leading up to the opening of free agency Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli hinted that signing Iginla might be tough because of salary cap problems.

TSN is reporting that the 37-year-old agreed to terms with Colorado.

Iginla scored 30 goals with the B's. His base salary was less than $2-million but another $4-million in performance bonuses kicked in and the bonus money counts agains the B's salary cap for this season.

NOTE:  B's free agent Shawn Thornton signs with the Florida  Panthers.

B's free agent goalie Chad Johnson signs 2-year deal with NY Islanders.
