Clay Buchholz struggled in his season debut as the Red Sox lost in 11 innings to the Milwaukee Brewers 7-6.Boston tied the game in the 6th inning when Xander Bogaerts scored on a fielding error, that would prove to be the last run of the night for the Sox. In the top of the 11th inning Khris Davis hit a ground rule double before scoring on a Logan Shafer double off Burke Badenhop who took the loss.

Buchholz Lasted 4.1 innings allowing 6 runs on 13 hits. The bullpen was the bright spot as six different pitchers combined to allow just 6 hits over 6.2 innings.

Will Middlebrooks strained his calf while running sprints before the game and was scratched from the start. He is scheduled to have an MRI today.

The Sox will try to salvage the series finale when Jon Lester takes the hill for his second start of the season.
