Burnett, Smith PVC Players of the Year

Old Town's McKenna Smith and Ellsworth's Matt Burnett are double major award winners in the Penobscot Valley Conference Class B.

Both win Player of the Year and Pitcher of the Year honors.

On the softball side, Smith dominated in the circle, going 10-1 with an ERA of .68. In 72 innings, Smith struck out 151 batters and walked just 15. At the plate, Smith batted .491 with five home runs and 21 RBI

Matt Burnett has been equally dominating on the baseball side of the PVC. He is 7-0 for the Eagles with an ERA of 1.46. In 38.1 innings Burnett has 60 strikeouts and 11 walks. As a hitter, he batted .426 with 16 RBI.
