Last season the Bangor girls basketball team managed six wins, this year they are off to a 5-0 start after a 45-43 win over the Brunswick Dragons.

Neither team could pull away as the biggest lead for both sides only reached 5 points. The second half saw several lead changes and ties and a chance for the Dragons to get the win at the buzzer.  Guard Emily Black got a shot off in the lane as time ran out but it came up short and the Rams hung in for the win.

Bangor's Mary Butler put together an all-around solid game with great defense and rebounding to go along with her team high 16 points. The senior forward was a dominant player despite spending nearly the entire second quarter on the bench with foul trouble. Her sister Katie added 8 points.

The 3-3 Dragons got a game high 20 points from Julia Champagne, the only senior on their roster. Champagne got 12 of her 20 points from the foul line.
