Believe it or not, Jack Capuano begins his 4th season as head coach of the New York Islanders. The former UMaine Black Bear is part of a five person UMaine-to-New York connection with Islanders management.

Capuano's boss is former UMaine goalie Garth Snow, now the Isles GM.

On Capuano's staff as assistant coaches...Bob Corkum (former UMaine player and coach), Greg Cronin (former Colby player and UMaine coach) and Mike Dunham (former UM goalie).

The Islanders are spending their final season playing at the Nassau Coliseum on Long Island, in fact, the final preseason game is there tonight. The Isles will play at the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
