Caribou Vikings vs. Ellsworth Eagles

In a back-and-forth battle at the Cross Insurance Center, the Caribou Vikings held off the Ellsworth Eagles Wednesday afternoon to advance to the regional finals.

When the buzzer sounded, No. 2 Caribou defeated No. 6 Ellsworth 65-58 and punched their ticket to a Saturday final against either Hermon or MCI.

Ellsworth started strong and led 35-29 at the half, but Caribou applied the pressure in the second half and jumped out to a 51-42 lead.

Alex Bouchard led the Vikings with 22 points. Parker Deprey added 18 points for Caribou.

Ellsworth's Jackson Curtis finished with 22 points, 11 of which came in the first quarter. Darby Berry added 12 points and Hunter Curtis had 10 points.

The match-up featured the No. 1 and No. 2 scorers in the Big East Conference. Caribou's Deprey led the conference in scoring with just over 19 points a game. Ellsworth's Jackson Curtis scored just under 19 points a game for the regular season.

Caribou and Ellsworth met twice during the season with Caribou winning both contests. The first was a 70-56 victory in Ellsworth. The second was a 83-51 victory in Caribou.
