Caron, Mattson, Smith Nominated for High School Athlete of the Week [VOTE]

Here are this week's nominees (in alphabetical order) for McDonald's High School Athlete of the Week.

Zach Caron – Foxcroft Academy Wrestling: Caron won the 145-pound division in the PVC Championships. In the process the 2-time defending state champion improved his record to 45-0 this season. His performance also contributed to the Ponies winning the PVC Team Championship.

Max Mattson – George Stevens Academy Basketball: Max played a key role in two more wins for the Eagles that helped them stay undefeated. Mattson had 8 points, 8 blocks and 13 rebounds against Lee Academy. He followed that up with 19 points and 10 boards against Penquis.

Carter Smith – Brewer Basketball: The senior guard had a big week that started with a 21-point performance against Camden-Hills. He then hit five 3-pointers against Cony and finished with a game high 28 points.
