It’s time for you to help us decide again who should be the winner of this week’s High School Athlete of the Week.  We have three great winter sport performers up for this week’s voting.

Dexter’s Megan Peach helped the Tigers to two victories to close out the 2016-17 season as they head to the playoffs in Class C North.  Peach had 16 points against Bucksport last Monday in a three-point win, and then notched 32 points, 17 rebounds, and five blocks in a victory versus Stearns.  The loss was the first of the season for Stearns and Peach logged her 1,000th point in the game.  Dexter is 12-6 and finished in fifth place in the Class C North rankings.

Paul Casavant of Hampden Academy earned the Male Outstanding Performer of the PVC meet last Friday as he won two events for the Broncos.  Casavant won the mile event with a time of 4:31.81 and also took home the two-mile crown with a mark of 9:52.33.  With his efforts he helped Hampden to a fourth place finish in the competition for the Broncos.

Senior Tia Tardy of Mount Desert Island had a great showing for the Trojans in the PVC meet over the weekend at the University of Maine.  She won the mile with a time of 5:02.81 and also took home the top spot in 800 meter with a 11:40.73 mark.  Tardy was named the Female Outstanding Performer of the meet and will be heading to Bucknell in the fall.  MDI finished in second place in the meet to Bangor who won the competition.

The decision is up to you to choose who you think is the High School Athlete of the Week between these three great performers!
