The Castleton State baseball team had to beat Husson twice to win the NAC title and that's just what the Spartans did, winning 6-1 and 7-5. The Eagles season ends at 26-15.

In the first game, freshman Steve Jurkiewicz shut down Husson with a complete game four hitter. He gave up one run while striking out five and walking four.

That forced a winner-take-all championship game. The Spartans jumped on the Eagles with four runs in the first inning.

Ben Walls came on in relief to pitch 7.1 innings while giving up just three runs.

Husson started chipping away. The Eagles scored in the 4th, 5th, 6th and 8th innings to close within two runs. But could never get closer.

Top hitters for Husson on the day were Dylan Foster and Cody McInnis. Foster was 5-for-8 and McInnis 4-for-7.

Castleton State (29-10) wins the NAC automatic qualifier and will go to a NCAA regional.
