Two University of Maine softball players were honored with weekly honors by the America East Conference for the team’s success over the past five games.  UMaine baseball also was able to snag a conference Player of the Week Award.

The UMaine baseball team mashed its way to two wins Saturday afternoon. The UMaine softball walked-off its way to two wins.

UMaine junior pitcher Justin Courtney pitched eight innings of two hit, shutout ball and the Black Bears scored a run in the bottom of the 9th inning on a wild pitch to start a Saturday sweep of the Hartford Hawks at Mahaney Diamond.

The University of Maine announced eight inductees to the Sports Hall of Fall at the school that includes former NFLer Mike Devito and the 1992-93 UMaine men's ice hockey team.

Playing for the first time in 10 days, the UMaine baseball tackled #9 St. John's in New York Saturday afternoon and got swept 3-0 and 9-3.

Though it is officially spring in the state of Maine, you would be hard pressed to believe it judging by the fields at the University of Maine and Husson University.

The University of Maine softball was unanimously selected as the favorite to win the America East Conference in coaches' poll that was released on Wednesday afternoon.

Work crews are trying to repair tears in the Mahaney Dome on the UMaine campus. It is the first step in trying to determine how much damage was done when heavy, wet snow and wind caused the dome to collapse last week.

Hermon High School senior softball player Hailey Perry signed her National Letter of Intent in front of family and friends Tuesday evening. She will play for the UMaine Black Bears.
