South Portland's Jon Gillies made 37 saves for Providence College and the Friars beat Quinnipiac 4-0 in the first round of the NCAA hockey tournament. It is the Friars first win since 1991. The other Hockey East team in action Friday at the regionals lost - Union defeated Vermont 5-2.
