The Boston Red Sox were able to salvage the finale of the three game set with the Blue Jays by winning the game 5-3 in extra innings.
Clay Buchholz made his first relief appearance since being demoted to the bullpen and earned his third win of the year. He pitched a scoreless inning in the 10th inning before Koji Uehara was able to close the door in the 11th for his first save of the year.
Dustin Pedroia gave the Sox the lead on a ground-rule double in the 11th and Xander Bogaerts added an insurance run on a sacrifice to give Boston the lead for good. Bogaerts also was able to extend his hitting streak to 22 games with a hit earlier in the contest.
