Celtics Trade Lee To Griz [VIDEO]

Before the Celtics took the floor against the Thunder the team agreed to trade Courtney Lee to the Grizzlies, then lost to the Thunder 119-96.Kevin Durrant scored 21 points and Reggie Jackson had 27 in a game that Oklahoma City led by as many as 21 points and was never in doubt. Jeff Green and Avery Bradley led the Celtics with 19 points each.

Guard Courtney Lee was not at the arena for the game as the team agreed to a trade with the Memphis Grizzlies that includes a swap of Lee for guard Jerryd Bayless. The teams are scheduled to talk with the league to finalize the deal today. Lee still has two years remaining on his contract after this season that will pay him just over 11 million dollars. Bayless is in the final year of his deal making him a free agent after this season. Bayless is averaging 8 points, 2 assists and 20 minutes a game this season.

On his instagram account Lee thanked Boston and Celtics fans with the following post. “Would like to thank every1 in the Celtics organization for the opportunity to be a Celtic. “I enjoyed my time in Boston and am grateful…Would also like to thank the fans for the amazing year and a half journey. We started off a little rocky, but I got my game back right so thanks for the extra motivation #allgoodthingscometoanend!!!”
