Central Advances To North C Semis With Win Over Stearns [GIRLS]

The Central Red Devils were able to build a lead in the second half and defeat the Stearns Minutemen in Class C quarterfinal action Tuesday night in Bangor.

The No. 5 Red Devils were led by senior Sydney Allen, who finished with 12 points in the 40-33 win over the No. 4 Stearns Minutemen of Millinocket.

It was a tight game. Trailing at halftime, Central was able to build an eight point lead in the third quarter

Abby Allen and Rachel Smith each added seven points for Central.

Junior Julia Stanley and Peighton Ingersoll each scored nine points for Stearns. Katherine Alley added eight points for the Minutemen.

Central (17-2) of Corinth will play in the Class C North semifinal at 3:35 p.m. on Friday at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.

Stearns finishes the season at 16-4.
