Here are this week's nominees (in alphabetical order) for the McDonald's High School Athlete of the Week.

Sydney Allen – Central Basketball: In three games last week Allen poured in 41 points to go along with 8 assists, 7 rebounds and 7 steals. That performance helped the Red Devils get two more wins and improve their record to 4-4.

Nick Chasse – Hampden Basketball: Chasse was a major force in helping the Broncos improve to 7-0 by beating previously unbeaten Brewer. The senior guard scored a career high 18 points including some big baskets down the stretch to help Hampden build a lead.

Tia Tardy – Orono Track: Tardy not only won the 2-mile and 800m events, but her times were new records for the UMaine field house. Her time in the 800 of 2:15 is the second fastest time in the country for a high school girl this season.
