Following his trade for Jon Lester, Yeonis Cespedes made his debut for the Red Sox on Saturday but it was not enought to spark Baoston in their 6-4 loss to the Yankees. In his first at-bat Cespedes singled to lead off the second inning, then scored on a Mike Napoli home run. Boston built a 3-0 lead in that inning only to see it fizzle away in the top of the third.
Allen Webster got the start but lasted only 2.2 innings as he struggled with command. After walking the first three batters in the third inning, Derek Jeter came through with a double to drive in two runs. Before the inning was over Jacoby Ellsbury and Carlos Beltran each drove in a run giving the Yankees a lead they would never lose.
The two teams wrap up the series tonight with Clay Buchholz facing David Phelps. You can hear the game live at 7pm on Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket.
