YouTube/Roger McCord   The University of Southern Maine Huskies opened the College World Series with a 2-1 win in 10 innings.The Huskies knocked off Millsaps College out of Mississippi who entered the game with a record of 38-12. The Majors took the lead with a run in the 3rd inning, but USM tied it in the 6th on an rbi single by Nick Grady.

In the 10th inning Forrest Chadwick out of Gardiner High School roped an rbi single to right field driving in the go-ahead run making the score 2-1.

Andrew Richards got the win on the mound working the final 5 innings allowing just 4 hits and lowering his ERA to 1.93. The win is his 10th out of the pen this season.

The Huskies are now 43-8 and will play the winner of Linfield and Ithaca Saturday evening.
