Championship Week

There are only eight high school football teams practicing this week in Eastern Maine. It's regional championship week with Bucksport, Winslow, Brunswick and Cheverus hosting title games - all #1 seeds. Our feature game on Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket is the Class D LTC championship game featuring unbeaten Bucksport hosting #3 seed Mattanawacook Academy from Lincoln. Live coverage is Saturday afternoon at 1PM. In Class C, it's that classic Battle of the Bridge game between #1 Winslow and #2 Waterville. The Purple Panthers handed the Black Raiders theirr only loss in the last week of the regular season. In Class B, top seed Brunswick meets #2 Cony. When these teams played back in week three they put a total of 92 points on the board. In Class A, it's #1 Cheverus and #2 Portland. The Stags and Bulldogs played each other way back in week one. Cheverus won by 10.
