State Police say a chase suspect from Plymouth was arrested after a trooper followed him into a swamp Thursday morning.

Kevin Switzer, 28, is charged with eluding a police officer and aggravated operating after revocation of his driver’s license, according to a news release from Maine State Police.

Police say Switzer was pulled over on the Saco spur for suspicion of driving on a revoked driver’s license.

Switzer sped off as the trooper was getting out of his car, the release said.

Switzer allegedly led the trooper on a chase that continued onto Route 1 and ended outside the Hannaford supermarket in Saco.

The trooper followed Switzer into a boggy area behind the store and took him into custody after the two were in waist-high mud and water.

Switzer’s driving record shows his license was revoked for failing to pay fines and for an accumulation of points on his license.
