A day after failing to sign Jon Lester, Red Sox General Manager Ben Cherington talked about the process and worked to acquire a starter. On Wednesday Cherington discussed the teams failed attempt to get Lester saying they wish more time would have been afforded them to negotiate. Lester signed with the Chicago Cubs for 6 years and $155 million dollars.

The 28 year old Miley has been an all-star in the past and is under contract for another four years.
