Cheverus Beats Bangor, Stays Unbeaten
The Cheverus football team showed why they are the best team in Eastern Maine class A with a dominating 49-7 win over Bangor on Saturday.Junior running back Joe Fitzpatrick leads the conference in rushing and added 136 yards on 22 carries in the win. Liam LaFountain added 72 yards and 3 touchdowns to help the stags improve to 7-0.
Bangor struggled with ball possession and committed three turnovers which Cheverus converted into 21 points. The loss drops the Rams to 3-4 as they go on the road for the regular season finale next week at Oxford Hills.
