Here are my 2013 Eastern Maine HS Basketball Tournament MVP choices. Let me know if you agree.

In Class A, I'm going with Hampden's Zach Gilpin and Bangor's Danae Johnson. I know little brother Nick hit the buzzer beater shot but Zach's play throughout the the three games was key for the Broncos. Danae Johnson not only ran the show for the Rams, she scored a bunch of points.

Class B, I'll go with John Murray from Medomak Valley. The big 6-8 center helped the Panthers to their first regional title in three decades. For the B girls I'm going with co-MVPs - Presque Isle's Megan Ireland and Chandler Guerrette. Both were terrific all week.

In Class C, Isiah Bess from Penquis is the obvious choice. So too is Calais sophomore Madison McVigar.

And in Class D, Central Aroostook's Steve Decker was superb in all facets of the game. MacKenzie Worcester ran the Washburn machine as the Beavers dominated their division again this year.
