Julia Clukey is going to give the World Cup luge tour another go, at least for one more year. The 29-year-old Augusta native made the announcement this afternoon in Readfield, Maine.

She competed in the 2010 Olympics and finished 17th in the Vancouver Winter Games. She was edged out for a spot on the USA team last year and did not compete in the 2014 Sochi Games.

Clukey was named to the U.S. national luge team about a month ago.

The luge World Cup Tour begins in late November in Austria. USA athletes will compete in a race-off in October to determine team spots. The U.S. Luge website shows Clukey with a guaranteed spot because of international wins in the past two years.

NOTE: Julia Clukey will be a guest on the Morning Pitch Show tomorrow(7:30am) on Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket!
