It has been a while since Maine Maritime Academy football can say their defense was the key to victory. But that's exactly the storyline on Saturday's 13-7 win over the Coast Guard.

The Mariners defense caused five Bear turnovers - four interceptions and a fumble. Keep in mind, MMA had given up 125 points over the past two weeks.

On offense, MMA got 99 rushing and a touchdown from quarterback Michael Fahey. Joe DiBiase scored the other Mariner TD.

MMA is 2-3. Coast Guard is 3-4.

Other Maine college football scores...

Bowdoin College lost to Trinity 17-10. Last week, Polar Bears coach Dave Caputi announced he would be stepping down as head coach at the end of the season. Caputi is in his 15th season at Bowdoin.
