It is a tradition at Colby College. Win a football game and then ring the bell for all of Mayflower Hill in Waterville to hear. Coach Jack Cosgrove got his first chance to do that on Saturday afternoon.

Thanks to a 34-yard field goal with 13-seconds in the game by Walter Thilley, The Mules beat Hamilton 23-21 for their first victory of the fall.

Thilley kicked three field goals and two PATs and is the NESCAC Special Teams Player of the Week.

The 1-5 Colby Mules now begin the C-B-B competition, playing at Bates College on Saturday. The Mules will host Bowdoin College on November 10th.

NOTE: Jack Cosgrove coached UMaine football for 23 years before moving into administration. He was named Colby College football coach back in January.
