The UMaine hockey team took a penalty and then gave up a powerplay goal late in the third period as Colgate beat the Bears 5-3 Saturday night. Maine suffers a loss and a tie over the weekend to the Red Raiders.

After the go ahead goal, the Raiders ice the game with an empty netter.

The loss drops the Bears to 3-3-2. It is Colgate's first win of the year.

Maine took nine penalties and Colgate scored two powerplay goals.

Matt Morris played in goal for the first time this year for the Bears as Colgate outshot Maine 37-20.

Maine now gets ready for Hockey East play, hosting Boston College Friday night in Portland and Saturday night in Orono.
