The College Hockey News names UMass-Lowell as the team to beat in their pre-season poll. The River Hawks won Hockey East and made it to the Frozen Four a season ago. CHN has 4 HE teams in their top-10 poll.

Boston College is listed #4, the new kid in Hockey East-Notre Dame is picked #7 and Nate Leeman's Providence College Friars are #9.

Keep in mind, last season's national champion, the Yale Bulldogs were not in anyone's pre-season poll and came out of a #15 NCAA seed to win the title in April. New UMaine head coach Red Gendron was an assistant coach with Yale.

Next Tuesday we will get a snapshot look at what Hockey East coaches think about UMass-Lowell and other teams in the league when media day is held in Boston.
