The Bangor Comrades Legion baseball team is still alive at the Northeast Regional Tournament in Connecticut. A 4-3 win over Vermont that included a bottom of the 9th innng walkoff hit by Justin Courtney.

The Comrades(25-6) are now 2-1 in the regional and will play Rocky Hill-Cromwell-Portland, the Connecticut state runners-up in an elimination game today at 1pm. RCP comes into the game with a 28-9 record after suffering their first loss of the tourney to Massachusetts on Saturday.

After spotting Vermont the first run of the game, Bangor scored runs in the third, sixth and seventh innings to grab a 3-1 lead.

Vermont answered by scoring to runs in the top of the ninth to tie the game 3-3.

Andrew Hillier pitched the first 8 2/3 innings for the Comrades. Justin Courtney got the final out.

The walk-off hit in the bottom of the ninth by Courtney was his third hit of the day. Kyle Stevenson scored the game winner.

Trevor DeLaite and Hunter Boyce each had two its for Bangor.
