legion30The Bangor American Legion team has made it to the final day of the state tournament thanks to a 12-6 win over Staples-Crossing on Saturday.The Comrades started the day with a 9-3 loss to Westbrook in the conclusion of their game that was suspended on Friday. Bangor re-grouped and got the bats cranked up in their 12-6 win over Staples-Crossing of So. Berwick. Justin Courtney got the win on the mound after going 6 innings allowing 3 runs. Courtney also got the offense jump started with a bases clearing 3-run double in the bottom of the second.The win improves the Comrades record to 26-4.

Bangor now plays Windham Sunday at 12 noon in an elimination game with the winner playing Westbrook at 3pm for the championship.
