The Cony Rams boys basketball team is on a five-game winning streak. Part of the reason for the team's success: the back-court duo of Simon McCormick and Jordan Roddy.

The team extended its winning streak with a 63-58 win on the road Wednesday night against Brewer.

Roddy, a senior, posted a game-high 23 points, one point shy of his season average.

McCormick, who is in his sophomore season, chipped in 14 points.

Rams coach T.J. Maines after the win said having the two players on his team is a "really nice luxury to have."

"I feel like when they step on the floor we have two of the best point guards not just in our league but in our area, anywhere," the coach said.

Maines said one of the qualities the two share is a good feel for the game. Roddy also plays football, and McCormick plays soccer in the fall. He said, in general, each player has good a "athletic sense."

The audio highlight below is a good example of Roddy and McCormick playing well off each other, something Maines says he sees each time the two step on the court.

The Rams improved to 10-5 this season with the win vs. Brewer and by the end of the evening sat at No. 4 in the Class A North Heal Point Standings.

Cony will host Lincoln Academy Thursday night.
