Maine football coach Jack Cosgrove is one of several "emerging candidates" for the Eddie Robinson National Coach of the Year Award. The Sports Network oversees the award process and will release a list of 20 finalists on November 25th and winner will be announced December 16th.

The Sports Network cites Maine's outstanding season - currently 8-1 overall and 5-0 in the CAA as a boost to Cosgrove's candidacy for the award.

Other FCS coaches mentioned include Coastal Carolina's Joe Moglia, Charleston Southern's Jamey Chadwell, Fordham's Joe Moorhead and North Dakota State's Craig Bohl among others.

Eddie Robinson was a longtime coach at Grambling and the top coach award was started back in 1987.
