Ben Cotton of John Bapst has been named McDonald's High School Athlete of the Week after winning two events at the Class B track and field state championships.

Cotton, who won with 42 percent of the vote, placed first in the 100-meter dash (11.28) and the long jump (20-9 3/4).

He also finished second in the 200 dash (23.32).

Cotton and Luke Laverdiere of Yarmouth were the only double-event winners in the Class B boys meet.

Cymeria Robshaw of Penquis and Olivia Damboise of Old Town also were nominated for Athlete of the Week.

Robshaw won the long jump (17-07.75) and the triple jump (34-10.50) in the girls Class C state championships at Massabesic High School in Waterboro.

Damboise won the pole vault (10-0) and triple jump (34-11) at the Class B girls outdoor track and field state championships at Foxcroft Academy.
